v Cottesmore
Wednesday 7th May Away - Lost 4-1
Team: Jane Buckley, Bev Seymour, Val Swain, Barbara Hart & Terry Payne (capt)
The Div 3 team travelled to Cottesmore for their last away match of the group. A bright, sunny day but with a chilly wind on the high ground made team members query as to why Terry was in shorts!!
Winter rules were in place! Not because of wet condition but because on exceptionally dry ‘bone hard’ conditions. Don’t even attempt a chip was the order of the day – get the putter out.
Unfortunately, the majority of the team fell foul of local knowledge and the very trying conditions BUT the star of the day was Barbara who, still smarting from her loss at Goodwood, won her match on the 16th. Bizarrely, Barbara and her partner did halve one hole.
Sadly, I have to report a loss for Chichester. The final score 4-1 to Cottesmore,
Home Thursday 19th June Won 3.5 to 1.5
Team: Lynn Plowman, Pauline Beale, Barbara Hart, Sally Acton & Jane Buckley
Div 3 went out on a high today winning 3.5-1.5 against Cottesmore. On a very hot sunny day the team arrived ready for action. There were some familiar faces from Cottesmore so we knew what we were up against.
The team proved to be too strong for their opponents. Terry saw the team off knowing they would be strong and tough to beat.
Well done to all Div 3 players that took part this year. You all deserve a rest.
v Golf at Goodwood
Away: Wednesday 2nd April - Lost 4-1
The Div 3 team of Lynn, Barbara, Val, Sally and Terry played away at Goodwood Downs course on Wednesday 2 nd April. The sun shone and the skies were blue butoh that wind. Balls travelled sidewards and peaks blew away. Even Sally’s trolley had a mind of its own and wandered off into the greenside bunker on the 16 th !!
We had to say a very big ‘aaahhh’ to Barbara. Having lead all the match her opponent clawed her way back and won on the 18 th . Barb had never played Goodwood so very well done. On a brighter note Lynn managed to get the better ofher partner again on the 18th . Unfortunately, this was our only win with the final score 4-1 to Goodwood.
Well done to the team.
Home: Friday 13th June - won 3-2
Team: Pauline Beale, Lynn Plowman, Barbara Hart, Jane Buckley, & Sally Acton
The Div 3 team played their second home match on Friday 13th June of all days. A very warm and sunny day but, as the team will wouch, lots of storm flies. Terry saw the team off wishing them luck.
The team faced strong opposition as Goodwood have won all their home matches well done to Lynn, Barbara ans Sally who won their matches to give us a 3 and 2 win.
v Piltdown
Away Lost 3.5 -1.5
Team: Terry Payne, Jane Buckley, Sally Acton, Beverley Seymour & Lynn Plowman
For the second time in a week the Div 3 team were off to play the third match of the season. A long drive to Piltdown saw the team arrive in scorching weather and with a 1pm start time they were out in the hottest part of the day.
A course suiting the longer hitters because of the abundance of very wiry heather. A better result this time, but sadly still a loss 3 ½ - 1 ½ to Piltdown. The fairways and greens were fast and sandy which, made course management tricky.
Well done to all.
The last away match will be at Cottesmore on 7th May.
Home Wednesday June 18th Drew 2.5 - 2.5
Team: Jo Talbot, Terry Payne, Pauline Beale, Sally Acton & Jane Buckley
On a very hot and dusty day, Chichester played at home against Piltdown. With a somewhat depleted side on this occasion the team set off with determined faces.
The team faced a very strong Piltdown side. Well done to Sally and Terry who won their matches and to Jane who came home with a half giving us a draw ( 2 ½ - 2 ½ ). The other matches went to the 17 th and 18 th .
The last match is against Cottesmore and we are back to our full complement of players.
A special thank you to Jo Talbot who stepped in when Terry was up the creek without a paddle.

v Worthing Blue
Away Wed 28th April lost 5-0
Team: Beverley Seymour, Sally Acton, Terry Payne, Barbara Hart & Lynn Plowman
The Div 3 team played at Worthing it was a beautiful day, and the course was playing very fast, especially the greens.
Home course knowledge was eventually too much for our team, but all matches were hard fought. It was a clean sweep for Worthing 5-0, but they have to come to Chichester!
The ladies were very welcoming, and a great day was had by all.
Well done to the team.
Home Monday 2nd June Won 3-2

The Div 3 team played their first home match of the group. A bright, sunny day but with a blustery wind. Terry came along to wish the team luck and see them off the first tee.
The team faced strong opposition as Worthing have won all their home matches. Well done to Lynn, Barbara and Val who won their matches and gave us a 3 to 2 win.
Onwards and upwards. Fingers crossed for the match against Goodwood on Friday 13 th June (lucky date we hope).
