Monday 20th April Home v Holyte Won 3.5-1.5
On a bright, sunny but breezy day at Hunston the Martlets Blye team played their first match of the season. Terry was there to see them all off and all 5 players were giving shots. Home advantage prevailed and Chichester won 3.5 to 1.5. An excellent start. The next match is on Thursday 23rd against Worthing at Home.
Thursday 23rd April Home Worthing won 4.5 -0.5
Another beautiful sunny day for the second Martlets Blue match at home against Worthing. A different line up but Terry had every faith in them. The team were all waved off with ‘enjoy yourselves’ and good luck.
The team played their socks off and came in with a victorious 4.5 - .5 win. It was Christine’s first ever match at this level and she won her game. Well done to all.
Friday 1st May Home v Dale Hill Lost 2-3
Another lovely day for Martlets Blue to play another home match. This time against Dale Hill. They were a very strong team and were victorious against us 2-3. We have another chance next week against Ifield.
Thursday 7th May Home Ifield Won 4-1
Our last home match on Thursday 7th May against Ifield. Reduced matches as Ifield could not field a full team. The weather was fine and sunny again. Chichester came through and won 4-1. A well-played match. Away matches start on 15th May away at Holtye.
Friday 15th May Away Holtye Lost 3-2
Martlets Blue travelled to Holtye GC on 15th May, a very long journey to Edenbridge. All the team had to give shots, and poor Sally had to give 6. A demanding 9-hole course with slippery greens. Sadly, local knowledge prevailed and we lost 2-3. Very well played ladies.
